LAHORE: Opposition Leader in the National Assembly Shehbaz Sharif and Leader of the Opposition in the Punjab Assembly Hamza Shehbaz’s parole will end today.
Yesterday, the Punjab government had extended the release on parole of both the PML-N leaders by one day. Both leaders will be taken back to jail before 4 p.m.
Opposition leader Shehbaz Sharif and Hamza Shehbaz’s parole was scheduled to end at 2.30 pm yesterday. However, a meeting chaired by Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar discussed the extension of the parole of Shehbaz Sharif and Hamza Shehbaz.
CM Usman Buzdar during the meeting approved the extension of parole of both the PML-N leaders. Punjab Law Minister Raja Basharat said that the extension of parole was done on the basis of human compassion.

Special Assistant Chief Minister Dr. Firdous Ashiq Awan tweeted on Twitter that the Punjab government had extended parole for the next 24 hours at the request of Shehbaz Sharif and Hamza Shehbaz on the instructions of the chief minister.
It may be recalled that yesterday was the last day of the release period of Shehbaz Sharif and Hamza on parole. The PML-N had requested for the release of the two leaders on parole for 14 days, but the Punjab cabinet and the Punjab chief minister approved their release for five days.
