LAHORE: PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif on Thursday approached the Lahore High Court (LHC) seeking removal of his name from the Exit Control List (ECL).
Shehbaz Sharif moved a writ petition and has named Ministry of Interior and Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) as respondents. He stated that he was granted bail in the Ashiana-e-Iqbal and Ramzan Sugar Mills references after which he went abroad and returned after four months.
He said the federal government has added his name to the blacklist which is a violation of fundamental rights. He requested the court to order the authorities concerned to remove his name from the no-fly list.
Shehbaz Sharif was released from Kot Lakhpat Jail on April 23 after the LHC approved his post-arrest bail in a money laundering case.
The Leader of Opposition in National Assembly also plans to visit different districts to meet local party leadership and interact with people after Eid-ul-Fitr subject to the coronavirus situation.
