Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfaraz Bugti has announced that 11 suspects have been arrested in connection with the brutal murders of Sheetal and Zarak, and a case has been registered on behalf of the state.
A disturbing video showing the murder of a woman and a man in Balochistan recently went viral on social media, prompting Chief Minister Bugti to take notice.
In a statement issued on social media, the Chief Minister confirmed that the victims shown in the video have been identified, and a crackdown is underway.
“So far, 11 suspects have been arrested in connection with the murder of the man and woman. The operation is ongoing,” he said. “All those involved in this incident will be brought to justice. The state stands with the oppressed.”
Earlier, the Chief Minister revealed that initial investigations suggest the incident occurred a few days before Eid, but the video surfaced only recently.
He added that after the video came to light, law enforcement agencies were directed to take immediate action. A case has been registered under anti-terrorism laws on behalf of the state, and one of the main suspects involved in the woman’s murder has already been arrested, while the search for others continues.
It should be noted that Sheetal and her husband, Zarak, were publicly shot dead by Sheetal’s brothers and other relatives for a love marriage. The video of the cold-blooded killing went viral on social media after the government took action.
