KARACHI: The Sindh High Court has ordered the removal of all political banners from across the city. The court remarked that a case should be registered on billboards or hoardings.
According to the details, a two-member bench of the Sindh High Court, headed by Justice Nadeem Akhtar, ordered the removal of all political party banners from across Karachi and remarked that if the billboards or hoardings are on behalf of a candidate, an FIR will be filed against them.
A 2-member bench of the Sindh High Court ordered that action should be taken if the concerned officer works with it and if the police officials have met with the politicians on the issue of political banners, cases should be registered against them as well. If the administration delays in removing the banners, they should also be sued.
The High Court remarked that the EC and the administration should take action against those who displayed the images. “What do you want to tell the visitors to Karachi? Is this a city of civilized people or a jungle? Don’t make this city a jungle,” the court remarked.
Justice Nadeem Akhtar while talking to the lawyers of KMC and Cantonments remarked that you should fulfill your responsibility. Officials informed the court that we are taking action, but there are some difficulties. The court ordered to take action to remove all obstacles.
