Reveling his best Pakistan XI, Shane Warne said, “I have played from 1990 to 2013, Saeed Anwar was probably one of the best I have bowled too, he along with Aamir Sohail are my openers.”
Referring to middle orders, he said, “In the middle-order, Mohammad Yousuf, class player of spin and pace at number three. Inzamam-ul-Haq at number four, not the best player of spin but fearless against pace. Younis Khan and Moin Khan at five and six respectively.”
Commenting on the bowling lineup, Shane Warne said that Pakistan’s bowling attack was one the best in the late 90s. He picked Wasim Akram, Shoaib Akter, Waqar Younis, Saqlain Mushtaq, and Mushtaq Ahmed.
He said, “Wasim was the best left-arm pacer, his skill was terrific. Shoaib Akhar, a guy who can bowl constantly at 100 mph was absolute fear to face. Waqar, who changed the perspective of reverse swing and yorker, this bowling attack was absolute class.”
