Colombian singer Shakira canceled her concert in the capital of Peru after being hospitalized due to stomach pain.
According to some reports, this decision came after she had just started her first world tour in seven years. The 48-year-old singer shared on social media that she was taken to the emergency room on Saturday night and is still hospitalized.
She said, “The doctors monitoring my treatment have informed me that my health is not in a condition for me to perform this evening.”

Shakira added, “I am very sorry that I won’t be able to perform tonight. I was really excited to meet my amazing fans in Peru.” She expressed hope that she would be discharged by Monday and resume the tour.
Shakira had recently started her tour in Rio de Janeiro with a concert that followed her winning the Grammy Award for Best Latin Pop Album. She dedicated the award to the migrants in the United States who are at risk of deportation.
Shakira is considered one of the most popular Latin singers in the world. She will perform nearly 50 concerts in Latin America until the end of June, after which the tour will continue in the United States and Canada.”
