Bollywood’s renowned director Karan Johar’s first film “Kuch Kuch Hota Hai” was released in 1998, which not only achieved box office success but also became a cult classic. This film is still alive in the hearts of fans, and its fame remains intact today.
Shah Rukh Khan played the role of ‘Rahul,’ while Kajol portrayed ‘Tina,’ and Rani Mukerji played ‘Tina.’ According to Indian media, the excellent story and depth of the characters have maintained its popularity even after 27 years.
However, an interesting fact is that Karan Johar had also planned to create an animated version titled “Koochi Koochi Hota Hai,” which became a sensational news item at that time. The animated film beautifully presented the love story of three college students.
In it, Tina tries to introduce her father Rahul to his old college sweetheart, and this story continues to intrigue fans today. Interestingly, all the original film’s actors provided their voices for this animated version. Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol, Rani Mukerji, Anupam Kher, and other famous actors recorded voiceovers for this version.

Additionally, Sanjay Dutt, Riteish Deshmukh, and Sajid Khan also provided voices for their characters in the film. However, this film has never been released to date. Karan Johar justified this during a film festival in 2019, stating that the idea of animating “Kuch Kuch Hota Hai” was conceived, but afterward, several films in Bollywood were released that did not succeed, which led to the non-release of “Koochi Koochi Hota Hai.”
This project came to light in December 2010 when the trailer for the animated film was released. In this film, all human characters were presented in the form of dogs, but the story remained the same as the original film “Kuch Kuch Hota Hai.”
