ISLAMABAD: Former prime minister and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) senior leader Shahid Khaqan Abbasi on Sunday repeated his call for abolition of National Accountability Bureau’s (NAB) laws.
The former prime minister said in a speech at a ceremony in Lahore that the Pakistani Constitution is for the rights of the people and the settlement of disputes, adding that the country is presently going through an unparalleled crisis.

Shahid Khaqan Abbasi added that every sector must contribute in its proper way for the betterment of the country. He added that Pakistan cannot advance as long as NAB laws are in place and call for the laws to be repealed.
The PML-N leader claimed that because of “fake” NAB charges, people were imprisoned, forced to give up their businesses, and had their lives “paralyzed.”
He questioned if NAB would be able to fix the harm it had done. The former prime minister continued by saying he had advocated for the elimination of NAB “from the outset,” contending that those who jailed others saw a growth in their own wealth.
