LAHORE: Former Pakistan all-rounder Shahid Afridi has thanked the Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) after receiving their lifetime membership today (Tuesday).
Taking to Twitter, the all-rounder thanked the “prestigious” MCC for giving him “respect and recognition”. He stated that he would continue to play his part in the promotion of the sport after receiving the huge honour.
“A big honour to receive MCC official lifetime membership. I want to thank the most prestigious cricket club in the world for respect and recognition. I would continue to play my part in promotion of this wonderful sport both on and off the cricket field,” Afridi tweeted.

The MCC is the world’s most active cricket club, the owner of Lord’s Cricket Ground, and the guardian of the Laws of the game. Afridi represented Pakistan between 1998 and 2018, featuring in 27 Tests, 398 One-day Internationals (ODIs) and 99 Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is).
