Pakistan’s star fast bowler and captain of PSL 10 champions Lahore Qalandars, Shaheen Shah Afridi, has firmly denied stepping away from any format of the game, saying he is fully committed to continuing in all formats as long as he is physically capable.
Speaking to Geo News, Shaheen said, “I’m not stepping away from any format. As long as I’m breathing, I’ll continue to play in all formats.”
Reflecting on the team’s PSL 10 journey, Shaheen admitted that success didn’t come easy. “There were many ups and downs. Credit goes to Atif Rana and Sameen Rana for backing the youth, and to our Player Development Program (PDP) for providing opportunities that players capitalized on.”
The left-arm pacer praised the team spirit, saying, “The players believed in each other. It’s not about one player—whether Shaheen is there or not—what matters most is the team environment. No one pointed fingers, everyone supported each other. That’s what leads to victories and strong performances.”
Recalling teammate Sikandar Raza’s dramatic return, Shaheen added, “His entry was straight out of a movie. I’ve never seen a cricketer like him—despite being fatigued from travel, he stepped up, bowled, got a wicket, and played a key role in our win.”
He emphasized his consistency and passion for the game, saying, “I’m still the same Shaheen and always will be. I often say, it’s not about how you look, but how you see. My performances are strong and will continue to be.”
