The Pakistan Ministry of Religious Affairs has announced that fourteen Qur’an reciters from across the country will participate in the ‘Mehfil Shabeena’ event at the iconic Shah Faisal Mosque in Islamabad, scheduled from Ramadan 21-27.
“Preparations are underway to hold the national Mehfil Shabeena from Ramadan 21-27 under the Ministry of Religious Affairs,” the ministry stated.
Out of 56 nominated Qur’an reciters from Pakistan’s four provinces, Islamabad, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Azad Kashmir, only 14 have been selected to join the event. The ministry has designated four reciters from Punjab, two each from Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Balochistan, and one each from Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Kashmir.

Muslims worldwide frequent mosques more during the last ten nights of Ramadan, considered the holiest period of the month. Shabeena is an annual event where the entire holy Qur’an, comprising over 6,000 verses, is recited over up to three nights during the final days of Ramadan.
