LAHORE: The government has decided to award all those working in the frontline in the fight against the novel coronavirus.
Governor Punjab Chaudhry Mohammad Sarwar has said that the services of all those who fought against the coronavirus pandemic valiantly would be recognised through the ‘Shaan-e-Pakistan Award’ during a special ceremony at the Governor’s House in the last week of this month.
Talking to the reporters in Lahore, he said President Dr Arif Alvi, Chief Minister Punjab, provincial governors, and President Azad Kashmir would be invited to attend the ceremony.
The award will be presented to all the “corona heroes” by President Arif Alvi. The ceremony will take place at the inauguration of the Corona Heroes Wall at Governor House in Punjab on October 27.
Sarwar said it was decided to give ‘Shaan-e-Pakistan Award’ to those who had worked in various fields including providing assistance to poor families and providing health facilities.
To a question, he said a ‘Corona Heroes Wall’ had been prepared to acknowledge services of Corona Heroes at Governor’s House on which names of all workers would be inscribed. The Corona Heroes Wall would be unveiled on October 27 and those who had played a constructive role during the coronavirus crisis would always be remembered.
He said a “Quran-e-Pak Garden” was also being constructed along with Corona Heroes Wall which would be planted with fruits and plants mentioned in the Holy Quran and work on this garden is underway.
Chaudhry Sarwar further said the danger of a spike in coronavirus cases is not over and it is necessary that precautionary measures are taken in public.
