ISLAMABAD: As the country is going to observe the seventh anniversary of the gruesome terror attack on the Army Public School (APS) today.
The tragedy of Army Public School seven years ago today is the worst incident in the history of the country during which terrorists who were enemies of the nation targeted innocent children. The Army Public School in Peshawar was attacked by terrorists on December 16, 2014.
As many as 147 people, including 132 schoolchildren, were martyred and a number of others were wounded when six terrorists broke into the APS on December 16, 2014 and went on a shooting spree. They indiscriminately killed and wounded young students in classrooms, corridors, and the auditorium.

The attack not only shook the entire country but it was condemned by people and countries across the world. A 20-point National Action Plan was launched across the country a month after the APS attack to tackle militancy and terrorism and restore peace in the country.
The TTP claimed responsibility for the attack. Terrorists indiscriminately fired on innocent children, killing about 150 people, including innocent children and teachers, after which security forces reached the school and launched an operation against the oppressors.
Like last 6 years, this year also on 16th December, the Pakistani nation will remember the martyrs in the memory of the Army Public School tragedy. The practice of targeting children by terrorists around the world, including in Pakistan, continues to be strongly condemned.
