ISLAMABAD: The Senator of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Azam Swati has written a letter to President Arif Alvi, seeking safety of himself and his family.
His letter, dated October 25th and surfaced today, follows days of protest demonstrations organized by him and other senators, demanding Supreme Court of Pakistan to take Suo Motu action on reports of his custodial torture, video filming by stripping him naked.

In his letter, Senator Azam Swati addressed President Arif Alvi as Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces of Pakistan, and requested him to ensure his safety as well as safety of his family, from FIA as well as ISI officials.

Senator Azam Swati, it may be recalled here, had accused FIA and ISI officials of subjecting him to custodial torture when he was picked up for posting a controversial tweet. Since then, he has held several pressers, naming those allegedly involved in the illegal act, as well as urging the Supreme Court of Pakistan to intervene and take action.
