ISLAMABAD: A senate session is expected to be held today at the Parliament House which will be headed by Senate Chairman Sadiq Sanjrani.
During the Senate session, the overall political situation of the country would be discussed.
Various national issues will be presented during the session. Three important bills will be considered including a draft bill seeking a massive increase in salaries of Senate Chairman, Deputy Chairman, NA Speaker, and Deputy Speaker.
The draft Salaries and Allowances Amendment Bill also seeks a rise in the salaries of Deputy Chairman and Deputy Speaker from existing Rs 185,000 to Rs 829,000 to match the salaries of the high court judges.
During the last Senate session held last month, the quarterly report of the State Bank was presented in the House by Advisor Finance. A two-month extension period to submit a report on the Senior Citizens Bill 2019 was also approved.
