RAWALPINDI: Security has been heightened for the ongoing Pakistan-Australia match at the Pindi Cricket Stadium after a suicide attack and the stadium road has been closed for all kinds of traffic.
All the shopping malls and markets around the stadium are already closed for the first Test match between Australia and Pakistan to be played at Pindi Cricket Stadium.
The local administration has banned all types of car parking on Stadium Road. Due to security concerns, the administration has also banned families from visiting Rawal Road Park and Allama Iqbal Park.
According to sources, the local administration has demanded the deployment of Rangers and Army officers near Pindi Cricket Stadium. According to reports, Rangers and Army will work with police officers to strengthen security.

The Commissioner, Deputy Commissioner, and City Police Officer of Rawalpindi Division visited Stadium Road to inspect the security arrangements. More than 450 police personnel are on duty during the Pakistan-Australia match.
Police evacuated all types of vendors from the area around Stadium Road. During the match, the local administration has asked the metro bus administration not to stop the buses at Shamsabad station. Dogs are checking every nook and cranny of Stadium Road for any potentially hazardous materials.
