RAWALPINDI: Security forces on Friday killed three terrorists, including two high-value targets, in Kech district’s Balgatar area in a follow-up clearance operation conducted on a makeshift hideout linked with recent terrorist activities in Panjgur.
According to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the terrorist hideout was surrounded following a major intelligence tip-off. “Security forces encircled the well dug out terrorists and in an intense exchange of fire killed all three terrorists,” it added.
The ISPR said that the killed individuals included terrorist commander Summair alias Bahar, commander Altaf alias Lalik and commander Phailan Baloch who was involved in terrorist activities against security forces in Hoshab, Panjgur and other areas.
The statement further said that the killed terrorists were involved in terrorist activities in the entire province, adding that a cache of arms and ammunition was recovered from the hideout.
On Wednesday, the country’s armed forces repulsed terror attacks in Panjgur and Naushki. The ISPR said that heavy casualties were inflicted upon terrorists.
“Terrorists attempted to attack security forces camps at two locations, Panjgur and Naushki, in Balochistan late evening today,” it said. “Both attacks have been successfully repulsed while inflicting heavy casualties on terrorists,” it added.
Grenade attack
Separately, six people, including two Levies personnel were injured after unknown miscreants threw a grenade at a Levies checkpost in the border town of Chaman in Balochistan, officials said.
Security officials arrived at the scene immediately after the incident occurred and cordoned off the area. The injured were shifted to Civil Hospital, Chaman.
Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Abdul Qudoos Bizenjo condemned the attack and lamented the fact that a commercial city like Chaman was targeted by terrorists.
