RAWALPINDI: In yet another major achievement on Friday, security forces in Balochistan gunned down five terrorists after an exchange of fire in Hoshab.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the incident occurred after terrorists had raided a security forces post in the Hoshab area on the night of May 11 and 12.
Despite facing distant fire, the security forces successfully repulsed the raid, prompting the terrorists to escape into the nearby mountains of Balore. However, using aerial surveillance means, the security forces were able to pursue and track the fleeing terrorists.
The ISPR said that during an encircling operation launched to cut off the fleeing terrorists, a heavy exchange of fire took place between the terrorists and the security forces party. As a result of the skirmish, five terrorists were neutralized, and a cache of arms and ammunition was recovered.
Although the operation is still ongoing to track down a few remaining fleeing terrorists in the adjoining areas, the ISPR has affirmed that the security forces remain determined to thwart any attempts to sabotage the peace, stability, and progress of Balochistan, says the ISPR.
The incident serves as a reminder of the security challenges that continue to confront Pakistan’s security forces in the province of Balochistan.
