Security forces achieve major gains during three months of operations

ISLAMABAD: Security forces have achieved major achievements during their numerous operations conducted across the country in the backdrop of recent surge in terror incidents.

According to details provided to media, security forces foiled several attacks by terrorists and facilitators in a span of three months, and killed at least 142 terrorists while 1007 were arrested during a total of 6921 operations by the security forces across the country.

In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 1,960 operations were undertaken out of which 1,516 were area domination operations, 301 intelligence-based operations, and 143 were area sanitization operations. In these operations, 98 terrorists were killed and 540 apprehended.

In Balochistan, 3,414 operations were conducted out of these 2,980 were area domination operations, 67 intelligence-based actions, and 367 were area sanitization operations. Forty terrorists were killed and 112 arrested in these operations.

In Sindh, 752 intelligence-based operations were performed. At least three terrorists were killed and 344 were nabbed. 

Similarly, 165 intelligence-based operations were undertaken by security services in Punjab and one terrorist was killed while 11 were arrested.
