Schools in the upper Kurram will remain closed for three days from today due to the rapidly deteriorating law and order situation in the Pakhtunkhwa district and erstwhile tribal area.
The main Parachinar-Tal road has been closed for 17 days, causing a severe shortage of essential items in Parachinar. Supplies of food, fuel, LPG, and medicines have completely stopped, leaving even basic items like sugar unavailable.
Due to the unavailability of petrol, all public and private schools in Upper Kurram are closed for three days.
According to the All Teachers Association, this shutdown is disrupting the education system. In response to the situation, students have announced a protest scheduled for tomorrow.
According to locals the 3G and 4G services also remained suspended for the past three weeks, making it difficult for students to attend online classes.
The tribal district of Kurram is faced with a rapidly deteriorating law and order situation, leading to the closure of the main highway connecting Parachinar to Peshawar.
All roads remain closed for the past two weeks, as a result, patients could not be transported to hospitals in Peshawar and medicines are also not available locally.
