The Punjab Education Department has announced the schedule for the 2025 Matriculation and Intermediate exams, following the reopening of schools and educational institutions. The new academic calendar, covering the period from January 15 to May 31, also outlines the admission process for the Rawalpindi division.
According to the official circular, the new academic year for 2025-26 will commence on April 1. Admissions for junior classes, including Prep, Nursery, and Class I, will begin on February 3.
Examination Schedule:
- Matriculation Exams: Start on March 4
- Class IX Exams: Begin on March 21
- Intermediate Exams: Scheduled for the first week of May
- Annual Exams for Classes I to VIII: March 12 to March 25, with results announced on March 31.
Admission Phases for Government Schools:
- Phase 1: April 1 to May 31 for Classes I to II
- Phase 2: August 15 to October 31 for additional intakes
The number of new admissions in government schools will be limited to 10% of the total student capacity per class, which may restrict overall enrollment.
Additionally, Abrar Ahmad Khan, President of the All Pakistan Private Schools Management Association (APPSMA), announced that private schools will begin new admissions on February 1, with their annual exams scheduled for February. The academic year for private schools will start in March.
This comprehensive schedule aims to streamline the academic process for both public and private educational institutions across the province.
