ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court has directed to submit details of the degrees of employees working in Pakistan International Airlines (PIA).
The hearing of the sam degree case was conducted by Chief Justice of Pakistan Gulzar Ahmed in Islamabad today in which CJP Justice remarked that pilots having fake degrees were flying planes.

According to CJP Gulzar Ahmed, the 700 employees work on one aircraft in PIA. He further directed the Attorney General to review the audit report and assist the court.
In December 2019, the Supreme Court ordered directives to verify the degrees of employees working in PIA. A petition was filed in the SC which stated officials have received their academic degrees without even going to the private university.
The court directed the Pakistan International Airlines to ensure employees’ education credentials are from accredited educational institutions. The court also ordered to verify the degrees of employees working in PIA and ordered chairman HEC, MDPIA and attorney general to appear before the court at the next hearing.
More than 700 PIA staff members had possibly submitted fake academic documents during their inductions. Some 467 staff members were dismissed. As many as 201 former employees had obtained stay orders from courts against their terminations. Among those terminated for possessing fake degrees were 16 pilots.
