“What we are seeing today regarding the gains that have been achieved by the Kingdom since the beginning of the pandemic, is an extension of one of the most important policies within Vision 2030 that prevention is better than cure,” Al-Rabiah said.
The health minister further said that this was represented by intensifying proactive precautionary measures, while putting people’s health first. “The government has worked to provide a safe and internationally approved vaccine in record time to give to citizens and residents,” he added.
Saudi Arabia has detected 178 new coronavirus cases over the past 24 hours, raising the total to 361,903, the Ministry of Health said in a statement.
The total recoveries increased to 352,815 after 207 individuals who had previously tested positive recovered, it said, adding the death toll reached 6,168 with nine new fatalities reported due to COVID-19 complications.
