Saudi Arabia on Wednesday pledged to increase visas for Pakistani workers and raised its investment in Pakistan by an additional $600 million, building on its recent $2.2 billion commitment.
The announcement was made by Saudi Minister for Investment, Sheikh Khalid Bin Abdul Aziz Al Faleh, who shared that the number of Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) has now risen to 34. “The total value of these agreements has reached $2.8 billion, with several still being evaluated for their final worth,” Al-Faleh said, noting the extra $600 million investment.
In Riyadh, Al-Faleh was joined by Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Mohammad Bin Mazyad Al-Tuwaijri, Advisor at the Saudi Royal Court.
Earlier, in October 2024, a Saudi investment delegation led by Al-Faleh visited Pakistan, signing 27 MoUs and agreements valued at $2.2 billion. Al-Faleh highlighted that work has already begun on five of these agreements, primarily in healthcare and energy sectors, with announcements expected soon from the involved companies.
