LAHORE: Saudi Ambassador to Pakistan Nawaf bin Saeed Ahmad al- Maliki has said Saudi Arabia committed to further strengthen his bilateral relations with Pakistan in several areas.
As per details, the Saudi ambassador called on former chief of army staff General (r) Raheel Sharif in Lahore. The meeting was held in a cordial atmosphere and issues of mutual interest came under discussion during the meeting.
Nawaf bin Saeed Al-Malki said that the kingdom had always stood by the South Asian nation and would never abandon it during its time of need.
The Saudi envoy further said that Umrah pilgrims would soon be permitted to visit Saudi Arabia with all the required protective steps to limit the spread of COVID-19.
He also reminded his interlocutors that the kingdom had successfully managed Hajj this year by prudently limiting the number of pilgrims and implementing stringent precautionary measures.
Raheel Sharif reassured Saudi ambassador that Pakistan stands with Kingdom in the event of a threat to its sanctity and security. He said the ideal relations between the two countries were a source of pride for 220 million Pakistanis.
Earlier, Nawaf Saeed Al-Malkiy called on Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa on August 10.
The COAS and Saudi ambassador had discussed matters of mutual interest, regional security situation and bilateral defense relations between the two brotherly countries during the meeting, said Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) press release.
