The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) has announced an extension of the seasonal work visa duration for international workers, allowing stays of up to 180 days, an increase from the previous 90-day limit. This change aims to support the accommodation of millions of pilgrims and workers during the Hajj season.
The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah issued a statement indicating that individuals entering Saudi Arabia on a work visa can now extend their stay by an additional 90 days. The extended visa period is intended to facilitate smoother operations for Hajj and Umrah services.
The ministry has also warned that strict actions will be taken against companies found selling seasonal work visas for these services. Offending companies may face fines of up to 50,000 riyals and risk being blacklisted for five years.
These changes are set to take effect 180 days after approval, providing companies with time to adjust to the new system and supporting better management during peak pilgrimage seasons.
