ISLAMABAD: The mother of prime accused in Sara Inam murder case has been arrested after her plea, seeking extension of bail, was rejected by a local court here on Wednesday.
The Court had extended the interim bail of Sameena Shah, mother of prime accused Shahnawaz, till Oct 19 in the Sarah Inam murder case.
As she appeared in district and session court today and sought an extension in the bail, her plea was rejected after which Islamabad police arrested her.
Earlier in the first week of October, Sameena had requested the court to accept her pre-arrest bail plea as she was facing health issues. She said that her slain daughter-in-law’s uncle and aunt nominated her in Sarah’s murder case.
Sameena had been of the opinion that her son “must be punished for what he did”. Talking to journalists after being granted an extension in interim pre-arrest bail last time, Shah said that she did not know when a conflict developed between the couple.
ٰIt may be recalled that Sara Inam was killed by her husband Shah Nawaz, son of veteran columnist and politician Ayaz Amir, at a farmhouse in Islamabad last month.
