The father of TikToker Sana Yousaf, who was murdered in her own home in Islamabad, has made new revelations, as reported by national media on Thursday.
According to details, on the evening of June 2, a 22-year-old TikToker named Umar Hayat alias “Kaka” from Faisalabad killed TikToker Sana Yousaf at her residence after repeatedly being rejected in his attempts to befriend her. Following Sana Yousaf’s murder, a case was registered on the complaint of her mother, after which Islamabad Police arrested the accused.
Syed Yousaf Hassan, who is currently in Chitral, told the BBC in an interview that shortly before the murder, Sana had sent her mother to the market saying, “Eid is coming, I have to wash clothes, please go get detergent.” The killer took advantage, entered the house, shot Sana, and fled.
Citing the account of an eyewitness to the incident—Sana’s paternal aunt, who was present at the house during the murder—Syed Yousaf Hassan said it was unclear how the killer entered the house, but noted that no men were present at the time.
Sana’s father stated, “As soon as he entered the house, the killer went straight into Sana’s room. At the time of the murder, my younger sister was also at home. She heard a sound like a balloon popping and ran toward Sana’s room. She saw the boy coming out of the room. When she tried to stop him, he pointed a pistol at her too. However, when the pistol didn’t fire, he ran away.”
Syed Yousaf Hassan stated, “My sister chased him, thinking he was a robber. At that point, she didn’t know Sana had been shot. After the boy ran away and my sister returned home, she discovered that Sana had been shot, and she was then taken to the hospital.”
Sana’s father further said, “I was not at home that day but was sitting with a friend nearby when my friend got a call and informed me there was an emergency. After that, my wife also called and explained the whole situation. When I reached the hospital, I found out that Sana had passed away.”
