RAWALPINDI: Lahore High Court (LHC) Rawalpindi bench has issued a non-bailable arrest warrant of Asma Bibi who impersonated as a boy and got married to another girl.
According to details, Justice Chaudhry Abdul Aziz of LHC Rawalpindi bench heard the girl to girl marriage case. The judge expressed anger over the non-appearance of Ali Akash alias Asma Bibi.
The court has directed SHO Taxila Police Station and SHO Garden Town to arrest Ali Akash alias Asma Bibi and produce her in court on 7th August. “Strict action would be taken against the police officers if they failed to arrest and produced the accused,” the judge warned.
Ali Akash alias Asma Bibi’s lawyer told the court that she could not appear due to illness. The lawyer filed a new petition in the court and said that Ali alias Asma had divorced her alleged bride Neha Ali and the case should be dismissed.
The court remarked it will see divorce papers when the matter of girl impersonating boy is resolved. The hearing of the case was adjourned till August 7.
Earlier, a girl impersonating as a boy married to another girl in Rawalpindi. The girl married her friend by tempering her name in CNIC.
The father of the bride filed a writ in the Rawalpindi court and contended that it is anti-Islamic and being Muslim religion doesn’t allow any such marriages.
