KARACHI: In an important development, the Global Mushaira Committee has been dissolved, and all future poetry gatherings will be organized exclusively by Sakinaan-e-Shehr-e-Quaid.
Renowned literary figure Dr. Peerzada Qasim Raza Siddiqui has been appointed as the Patron-in-Chief of Sakinaan-e-Shehr-e-Quaid.
This announcement was made during a press conference at Governor House Karachi, attended by prominent social figures Mehmood Ahmed Khan and Haji Rafiq Pardesi, alongside Governor Sindh Kamran Tessori.
The organizers urged the people of Karachi to participate in the upcoming 31st International Mushaira, scheduled to take place on February 8, 2025, to celebrate the rich tradition of poetry gatherings.
Sakinaan-e-Shehr-e-Quaid was established in 1989 with the mission of promoting literary and cultural events in Karachi. The organization has successfully hosted numerous poetry gatherings, including the 30th International Mushaira held on January 4, 2025, at Expo Center Karachi.
The upcoming 31st International Mushaira promises to continue this legacy, bringing together esteemed poets and literary enthusiasts.
