Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi has made the decision to send cricketer Saim Ayub to London for immediate treatment. The move comes after consultations with medical professionals. Naqvi personally contacted Ayub to inquire about his condition and expressed his best wishes for a swift recovery.
The PCB Chairman confirmed that Ayub will have an appointment with renowned sports orthopedic specialists in London for further examination. “Saim Ayub has an appointment with London’s Sports Orthopaedic specialists,” Naqvi said while giving orders for the cricketer’s transfer to England.
Currently, Dr. Mamrez in Pakistan is overseeing Ayub’s treatment and has shared all of the cricketer’s medical reports with the specialists in London for further evaluation.
“Saim Ayub is a stylish, powerful batsman and an asset for Pakistan cricket,” Naqvi said, expressing concern for the cricketer’s injury. He also confirmed that Ayub would be flown to London from Cape Town on the first available flight. Azhar Mahmood, the team’s strength and conditioning coach, will accompany Ayub during the trip.
Naqvi assured that the cricketer would receive the best possible care at one of the top hospitals in London. “All resources will be used for Saim Ayub’s treatment,” he said, adding that the PCB hopes Ayub will make a full recovery in time for the upcoming Champions Trophy.
