The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee Chairman, Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad, has announced that the moon for the Islamic month of Safar was not sighted anywhere across Pakistan tonight. Consequently, the first day of Safar will be observed on Sunday, July 27, 2025.
The announcement followed a meeting of the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee held at Aiwan-e-Auqaf in Lahore to sight the moon.
The session was presided over by Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad himself.
After receiving no credible testimonies or evidence of the Safar moon’s sighting from any part of the country, Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad officially declared that the moon for the month of Safar had not been sighted.
This decision aligns with the established procedure for moon sighting, which relies on confirmed visual testimonies from various regions.
The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee is the official body responsible for announcing the sighting of the new moon for Islamic months in Pakistan, ensuring uniformity in the observance of religious dates across the nation.
