KARACHI: Sindh Education Minister Saeed Ghani on Monday said the provincial government has provided ration over 212, 000 families, who have lost their livelihoods amid COVID-19 lockdown.
Talking to media, the minister said that the provincial government allocated Rs1.08 billion for the ration program for the poor people who were affected due to coronavirus lockdown in Sindh.
Saeed Ghani maintained that under the project 550,000 families will be given ration amid the lockdown so that they do not suffer.
He said on the direction of PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, the provincial authorities were providing ration to the deserving people at their doorstep.
The Minister also said that ration is being distributed among deserving families without any political interference.
Gani said that the help of deserving families in this time of trial was first priority of PPP government, which would be performed pleasantly, he added.
He advised citizens to take precautionary steps, including, wearing masks, maintain social distancing, regularly clean hands and other basic protective steps against the new COVID-19.
