Indian media claims that Russian President Vladimir Putin expressed full support for India during a recent phone call with Prime Minister Narendra Modi have been debunked by the Kremlin’s official statement — exposing yet another instance of Indian propaganda.
According to Indian outlets, President Putin allegedly assured Modi of Russia’s backing and adopted an anti-Pakistan stance following the Pahalgam incident in Indian-occupied Kashmir.
However, the Kremlin’s official readout of the conversation made no mention of Pakistan or any such commitment.
The Kremlin statement merely referred to the Pahalgam incident as a “barbaric act of terrorism” and emphasized the need to bring the perpetrators to justice, without assigning blame or naming any country.
Despite this, Indian media once again attempted to link the attack to Pakistan and presented an exaggerated version of Russian support, seemingly to sway international opinion in India’s favor.
Analysts note that this distortion reflects the Modi government’s ongoing strategy of political point-scoring and attempts to diplomatically isolate Pakistan — a narrative that was effectively undermined by Russia’s neutral stance.
It is important to note that Pakistan has already called for a transparent and impartial investigation into the Pahalgam incident and has categorically rejected all baseless accusations.
