RAWALPINDI: The Rawalpindi Solid Waste Management Company (RSWMC) has failed to collect and dump garbage at the designated landfill in a proper manner.
The residents have to bear stench emanating from garbage littered everywhere but inspectors of the concerned department of RSWMC are not taking the matter seriously.
The city district government has long been painting a rosy picture of cleanliness in the city, however, heaps of garbage are piled up everywhere in the city falsifying their claims.
Sources said that open dumps of garbage are present in residential areas, including ward no- 2 of Rawalpindi Cantonment Board, Habib Colony, Allahabad, Muhammadabad, School Road, Khalid Bin Waleed Road, Sultanabad, Hafizabad and other areas.
Sources further said that the majority of sanitary workers on the orders of concerned sanitation inspectors are trying to fail the newly-established Rawalpindi Solid Waste Management Company (RSWMC), which is working with the cooperation of a Turkish company.
The company is strictly monitoring corrupt officials in the sanitation department, sources added. The bureaucracy is not interested in resolving public complaints, sources said, adding that common man is forced to live in a bad atmosphere.
