Federal Minister for Planning Ahsan Iqbal said that the government needs one thousand billion rupees for the Diamer Bhasha Dam and three hundred billion rupees for the Mohmand Dam.
Speaking on the TV program Jirga, Federal Minister for Planning Ahsan Iqbal said that due to giving more money to the provinces, the government is not able to spend more money on key projects like the Diamer Bhasha Dam and Mohmand Dam.
Federal Minister for Planning Ahsan Iqbal said that 60 percent of the taxes collected by the government go to the provinces; if this situation continues, in the next two to three years, the development budget will decrease from one thousand billion rupees to 500 billion rupees.
Ahsan Iqbal said that the Benazir Income Support Program should be handed over to the provinces, and efforts are being made to secure a share from the NFC for Gilgit-Baltistan, Azad Kashmir, and the merged districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
