Commissioner Karachi Syed Hassan Naqvi has issued a notification fixing the official prices of flour and bread and reduced the price of bread (roti) to Rs.10 for Ramadan.
According to the notification issued by the Commissioner Karachi, 2.5 grade flour has been fixed at Rs 83 wholesale while Rs 87 per kg in retail, fine flour has been fixed at Rs 88 wholesale while Rs 92 per kg in retail, the price of Chakki flour has been fixed at Rs 100 per kg.
However, fine flour is being sold at Rs 90 to 100 per kg in the market while Chakki flour is being sold at Rs 110 to 115 per kg.
According to the notification, the price of 100 grams of bread (roti) has been fixed at Rs 10, the price of 120 grams of bread (nan) has been fixed at Rs 15.
The Commissioner Karachi also fixed new prices of groceries and other items in the month of Ramadan. A notification was issued in this regard. The official prices of vegetables and fruits will be issued every morning.
A complaint cell has been activated in the Commissioner Karachi office, which will help in controlling the prices. Deputy Commissioners have been directed to take strict action against those not following official rates.
