ISLAMABAD: Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Accountability Shahzad Akbar has said that robbing the national wealth has been a trend in the past.
While addressing a media conference in Lahore today, Shahzad Akbar criticised the Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) by claiming that Chaudhry Sugar Mills a huge corporate scam.
He said, “Sharif family used Chaudhry Sugar Mills for money laundering. They also took loans to establish and sustain the mill and as soon as Nawaz Sharif assumed charges as a premier, all his loans were waived off.”
Foreign currency accounts of 15.37 million dollars were opened, he added.
Akbar further added that Umar Shehreyar Rs. 15 million was borrowed through offshore companies for Chaudhry Sugar Mills.
According to him, the Sharif family has never given any sort of documentation proof to any investigative institution.
