At least seven people were killed after an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) explosion targeted a vehicle in the Balgatar area of Panjgur district in Balochistan, Levies sources said on Monday.
The incident took place in the remote Kech district located some 772 kilometers (480 miles) from the provincial capital Quetta. Police and rescue officials rushed to the scene and started rescue operations.
As per reports, a Balgatar Union Council chairman was among the seven people killed when their car collided with an Improvised explosive device. However, no official statement has been issued addressing the cause of the explosion.
The victims were identified as Ishaq Yaqoob, Ibrahim, Nizam Didar, Fida Hussain, Sarfaraz, Safar Khan, and Qasim.
No group claimed responsibility for the attack, the latest in a string of bombings in the violence-hit province.
