Rihanna’s musical sabbatical comes to an end the famous singer is set to release her first song in six years with the lead single in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. The song in question, ‘Lift me up’, will be the official soundtrack of the new Marvel Studios’ superhero movie.
The singer posted on Twitter, writing the title of the song Lift Me Up and the date “10.28.22” along with a 14-second clip.

After teasing the song, Rihanna showed up with her rapper boyfriend ASAP Rocky, with whom she gave birth to her first child earlier this year, at the movie’s international premiere.
The singer’s participation in the film, according to director Ryan Coogler, was done as a tribute to the late Chadwick Boseman, who played Black Panther.
“Honestly, I think it was Chad,” he said. “A lot of improbable things needed to happen for it to come through and Rihanna was very clear that she did that for him.”
In the clip for the song, rising music can be heard along with the Barbadian singer’s distinctive hum as an “R” shines into view flanked by her name and the song title written in Wakandan, the language spoken in the comic book universe.
The track is set to be released on Friday, two weeks before the film’s theatrical release on 11 November.
In Marvel Studios’ Black Panther: Wakanda Forever – one of the most highly anticipated film events of the year – Queen Ramonda (Angela Bassett), Shuri (Letitia Wright), M’Baku (Winston Duke), Okoye (Danai Gurira) and the Dora Milaje (including Florence Kasumba) fight to protect their nation from intervening world powers in the wake of King T’Challa’s death.
As the Wakandans strive to embrace their next chapter, the heroes must band together with the help of War Dog Nakia (Lupita Nyong’o) and Everett Ross (Martin Freeman) and forge a new path for the kingdom of Wakanda. Introducing Tenoch Huerta Mejía as Namor, king of a hidden undersea nation, the film also stars Dominique Thorne, Michaela Coel, Mabel Cadena and Alex Livinalli.
Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, directed by Ryan Coogler and produced by Kevin Feige and Nate Moore, opens in U.S. theaters Nov. 11, 2022.
