ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court has rejected the petition to disqualify Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan as a member of the Assembly.
A bench consisting of Chief Justice Athar Minullah and Justice Miangul Hassan Aurangzeb issued a detailed decision rejecting Imran Khan’s disqualification case.
In the judgment, it has been said that disqualification was sought on the charge related to Imran Khan’s private life, the issue of fundamental rights of a girl child is also involved in this case, and the rights of the alleged girl child are also feared to be affected by using judicial authority.

The judgment further said that since Imran Khan was elected from five constituencies in 2018, the investigation into his private life is not in the public interest.
It should be remembered that the court rejected Imran Khan’s disqualification petition on 21 January 2019. The citizen had approached the High Court for Imran Khan’s disqualification.
