KARACHI: Saleem Khatri, a religious leader, was shot dead on Wednesday outside his house near New Karachi Sector 5/G, police confirmed.
According to police, two suspects riding a motorcycle shot Ahle Sunnat Wul Jamaat’s Saleem Khatri dead as soon as he came out of his house. They had fired five shots at him.
They further said as per the initial investigation it was revealed that the deceased got six bullets in his body which resulted in his death.
The police officials are collecting more information from the spot of the incident.
According to the spokesman of Ahl-e-Sunnat Wul-Jamaat, the deceased was the leader of the Jamaat Karachi division and the provincial legal advisor.
It is to be noted here that two religious leaders have been shot dead in two days in the megacity.
Earlier, a religious scholar Maulana Abdul Qayyum Sufi gunned down by unidentified armed men in Karachi.
Maulana Abdul Qayyum Sufi, who was a member of the Pakistan Ulema Association, targeted in Karachi’s Gulistan-e-Jauhar Block 9 area.
