ISLAMABAD: Regulatory duty on imported vehicles has been increased up to 35%.
Sources said that a meeting of the Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) was held under the chairmanship of Finance Minister Shaukat Tareen in which approval of 35% increase in regulatory duty on imported vehicles was given.
According to sources, the regulatory duty on hybrid vehicles has been increased from 15 to 50 per cent, applicable to hybrid vehicles from 1,501cc to 1,800cc.
Regulatory duty on import of normal vehicles larger than 850cc has also been increased. Regulatory duty has been increased from 15% to 50%.
Meanwhile, the Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) here on Wednesday approved import of 50,000 metric tons of Urea from China on an immediate basis subject to clearance from the Pakistan Standards and Quality Control Authority (PSQCA).
The ECC tasked the Trading Corporation of Pakistan (TCP) to negotiate price with a Chinese supplier authorized by the government of China for further import of Urea.
