KARACHI: Sindh Rangers have conducted operations in different parts of the metropolis and apprehended a 5-member gang.
According to a statement issued by Rangers officials, the paramilitary force carried intelligence-based raids including, Lines Area, Korangi, Liaquatabad and Nazimabad areas of the city.
Those arrested are identified as Kamran Amjad, Waqar aka Buntoo, Asad aka Chota, Sheeraz alias Sherry and Adnan.
The Rangers official said that they have recovered five pistols from their possession.
“They were involved in carrying out organised crime in the city including looting those coming out from banks or money exchange offices,” he added.
Earlier on Tuesday, they arrested 19 suspected criminals from Karachi.
Rangers spokesperson said among the arrested accused one of the criminal, Bilal alias aka Irani, is affiliated with the Lyari gang war while another identified as Jamil is linked with the Uzair Baloch group.
The spokesperson further said that street criminals were apprehended from Madinah Colony, Napier Road, Malir, Azizabad, Mithadar and Tipu Sultan areas of the metropolis.
Separately, drug peddlers were detained from Alfalah, Garden, Shahrah-e-Faisal, Jackson, and Napier. He said that the apprehended criminals were handed over to the police for legal formalities.
