LAHORE: The moon for the month of Rajab al-Murajjab 1443 has been sighted, the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee announced on Wednesday.
The 1st of Rajab al-Murajjab 1443 Hijri will be on Thursday, February 3, 2022, while 27th Rajab ‘Shab-e-Meraj’ will be observed on Tuesday 1st March 2022.
The committee held its meeting in the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony as per its schedule announced earlier. The meeting was held under the chairmanship of Maulana Syed Muhammad Abdul Kabeer Azad to observe the moon of Rajab. The members of Ruet-e-Hilal Committee Pakistan and technical experts attended the meeting.
Chairman of Ruet-e-Hilal Committee Abdul Kabeer Azad said that “evidence of sighting of moon of Rajab month have been received from different places of Pakistan. It was decided by consensus that the first Rajab would be on Thursday, February 3.”
At the end of the meeting, a special prayer was offered for the prevention of coronavirus and eradication of terrorism, national security and stability, and liberation of occupied Kashmir and Palestine.
