Rains and nuisance flooding: How is Pakistan affected by climate change?

The series of rains that started last month in Pakistan has caused great havoc. Due to the heavy rains, many major cities and villages of the country are under water and the life system has been paralyzed.

According to the report, a total of 312 people, including 121 children, 136 women, and 56 men, have died in accidents caused by flooded rails and water across the country from June 14 to July 26. A total of around 298 people have been injured.

Which provinces of Pakistan were affected the most?

After the recent rains, it is estimated that Karachi, the largest city in Pakistan, Lasbela district of Balochistan are among the most affected areas. Earlier, torrential rains had caused havoc in Quetta.

According to the report, around 102 people have died due to the heavy rains in Balochistan, while many areas have been declared disaster-prone. On the other hand, Karachi, the largest city in Sindh province, has also been badly affected by the rains.

Due to the rains, not only the life system has been affected, but many people have died. It is being told that about 71 people died due to electrocution and roof collapse due to the rains that started last week.

Loss of life and property due to rains in the country

According to the data released by the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), a total of 312 people have been killed in accidents caused by flooded rails and water throughout the country from June 14 to July 26. Including 121 children, 136 women, and 56 men. A total of around 298 people have been injured.

The province of Balochistan has been the worst affected by the monsoon rains in the country so far, where the total number of deaths is 102, while 71 are in Sindh, 68 in Punjab, 63 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, eight in Gilgit-Baltistan and Pakistan-administered. Five people have been killed in Kashmir.

According to the National Disaster Management Authority, a total of 615 km of roads and 49 small and big bridges have been damaged by flood rails across the country.

NDMA says that 3248 houses have been completely destroyed while 5131 have been partially damaged across the country. It is being told that the most destruction has happened in Balochistan, where the number of destroyed houses is 2536 while 1417 houses have been partially damaged.

How is Pakistan affected by climate change?

Experts say that the population in the country has increased a lot, due to which the number of transport is also increasing day by day, which pollutes the air a lot.

Experts say that in view of the increasing population, trees are being cut down in the country and the population is also increasing in that place, which is affecting Pakistan badly.

According to experts, Pakistan needs to seriously think about this issue because if this is not done, the system of life in Pakistan will be badly affected in the coming years. Because Pakistan is not taking any significant measures to deal with rain, heat wave or flood.

Experts say that the topic of climate change is taken seriously all over the world, but it is not taken seriously in Pakistan. The efficiency of district administration can be improved through federal and provincial governments.
