Rain with thunderstorm expected in most parts of country

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast rain and thunderstorm in most parts of the country during the next 24 hours.

According to the PMD, rain is expected in some places of Upper Punjab, Upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Kashmir.

Rain is also expected in Sindh, South Punjab, and Balochistan today while rain is also forecast in Lahore, Sialkot, Gujranwala, Narowal, Layyah and Multan.

As per the meteorological department, thundershowers will also pour in Bahawalnagar, Bahawalpur and DG Khan. Rain will pour in Karachi, Hyderabad, Jamshoro, Tando Allahyar, Tando Muhammad Khan, Thatta and Badin in Sindh province. It is also forecast in Shaheed Benazirabad, Sanghar, Sukkur, Larkana and Dadu.

The meteorological department has forecast rain in Peshawar, Abbottabad, Haripur, Mardan, Kohat, and Bannu while heavy rain is forecast in Khuzdar, Awaran, Lasbela, Kech, Panjgur, and Turbat.

It may be recalled that seasonal rains lashed Karachi yesterday, disrupting the transmission system and power supply to 60 percent of the city’s residential areas. The power supply was suspended in Korangi, FB Area, New Saeedabad and Gulshan-e-Iqbal block 16, 15, 9, and 8 of Karachi.
