Rain continues in most parts of country

ISLAMABAD: Seasonal rain is continuing in most parts of the country.

A new cycle of rain began across the country. Murree, Jhelum, Taxila, Attock, Sialkot, and Kharian received thundershowers.

Heavy rain also lashed different parts of Shakargarh, Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Azad Kashmir, and Shangla after strong winds. Rains disrupted power supply in many areas. The Bajaur region of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was also lashed by rains.

According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), intermittent rain is expected in most parts of the country even today. Rain is expected at some places in northeastern Punjab, Upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Gilgit-Baltistan while partly cloudy and thundershowers are expected in Islamabad.

Lahore, Sialkot, Gujarat, Gujranwala, Narwal, DG Khan, Multan, Bhakkar, Peshawar, Abbottabad, Dir, Swat, Malakand, and Kohistan are also likely to receive thundershowers.

Kashmir and adjoining hilly areas are also likely to receive thundershowers at some places. The weather will remain hot and dry in most parts of the country including Balochistan and Sindh today.
