Another tragic and horrifying incident has come to light in Quetta, the capital of Balochistan, where a father took the lives of his own daughter and nephew in the name of honor, as reported by national media on Wednesday.
According to reports, the incident occurred on Qambrani Road, where a man named Abdul Latif allegedly shot and killed his daughter Nazneen and his nephew Ghulam Qadir. According to the initial statement from police, both individuals died on the spot as a result of the shooting, while the accused Abdul Latif managed to escape from the scene.
Upon receiving information about the incident, police from Kechi Baig Station arrived at the scene and transferred the bodies to Civil Hospital for legal formalities. After completing medical and legal procedures, the bodies were handed over to the families.
According to police officials, raids are being carried out at various locations to arrest the accused, and he will soon be brought to justice. Further investigation into the incident is ongoing, and statements are also being recorded from the victims’ families in order to determine the real motives.
It is worth noting that this is the second such incident in recent weeks in Balochistan in which individuals have been killed over such accusations. Previously, incidents such as the killings of Bano and Ehsan have also deeply alarmed human rights circles and civil society.
