DOHA: Qatar has reached an agreement with the Taliban to resume the evacuation of foreign nationals from Kabul airport.
The foreign news website quoted an interview with Qatari Foreign Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani as saying that according to the agreement, Qatar Airways operates two flights a week to the Afghan people in other countries besides the citizens of the United States and other countries. Qatar suspended evacuation flights in early December due to a dispute with the Taliban.
Earlier, a CNN report said that the Taliban had provided secret assistance to the Americans to get out of Kabul airport. The safe evacuation of Americans was made possible with the cooperation and supervision of the Taliban.
The US military has held secret talks with the Taliban for the evacuation. According to a CNN report, the Taliban kept bringing American citizens to the secret gates of the airport in groups, which were brought back to the United States by the US government planes.
The Special Forces set up a secret gate and call center at Kabul Airport to explain to Americans how a safe evacuation from Afghanistan could be made possible. Citizens were gathered at a secret location near the airport.
The Taliban completed the identification of the American citizens through documents that were taken to the secret door of the US military. In one day, several missions were completed for the safe evacuation of American citizens. The evacuation was completed before August 31.
